The Grande Prairie Curling Centre will have an extra $100,000 to play with when doing renovations in the near future. MP Chris Warkentin announced the funds Friday, as the last of eight 150 Community Infrastructure Program grants for the Peace Country.
The funds will go towards fully renovating the locker room and downstairs washroom. Deputy Mayor Chris Thiessen says the locker room hasn’t been renovated since it was built in 1978.
The area will be modernized with accessible change rooms and facilities. Upgrades will also be done to the storage room and the building’s roof.
