Beaverlodge ED to be without on-site physician Tuesday night

The Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital emergency department will be without an on-site physician on Tuesday night.

AHS says from 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27 to  8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28 the ED will be without an onsite physician.

During the shortage, a Virtual Emergency Physician is scheduled to support all or part of the shifts.

Nursing staff will remain on-site in the emergency department providing triage, assessments, and referrals for patients to alternate emergency departments in neighbouring communities, as needed.

Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency during these times. EMS will remain available to the community and will be re-routed to surrounding facilities, including Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.
