Spencer Jebb feeling confident heading back into the octagon

When Spencer Jebb steps into the octagon at the Entrec Centre Friday night his last fight won’t be on his mind. He’s coming off a controversial split decision loss to Michael Hill in April, but says his confidence is at an all-time high.

“I’m still feeling good about that fight and even better going into this one. I did another training camp in Montreal; spent another month there and when you’re there, you’re always improving on your skills big-time. It’s one of the best training camps I’ve ever had so I’m feeling really good going into this one.

His 6-2 record will be up against veteran Derek Boyle of Lethbridge, who boasts a 13-9 record but is also coming off of three losses in a row. Jebb has been on five cards in the past two years and says he’ll be taking some rest after Friday’s fight.

The 12th Xcessive Force Fighting Championship, appropriately titled Oktoberfist, will feature several other local MMA fighters, including brothers Dayton and Jordan Roberts, and amateurs Brock Holmes, Blair Watchorn, Jared Bailey, and Grey Patino. Tickets are still available through Evergreen Park.
