Peace Country hockey players invited to Team Alberta summer camp

Two Peace region players have been scouted by Hockey Alberta. Grande Prairie’s Kjell Kjemhus and Bonanza’s Lukas Konashuk have been invited to attend Team Alberta’s U-16 summer camp.

They’re two of 80 players selected by scouts during the 2015-2016 season and the 2016 Alberta Cup. Both local forwards did well at the tournament, with Kjemhus scoring four goals and one assist and Konashuk notchng two assists.

The pair will attend the camp from July 5 to 10th in Camrose in the hopes of making the Team Alberta shortlist. The full roster will be released in the fall.

Last year, Paycen Bjorklund made the cut. He went on to be selected 25th overall in May’s Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.
