High-speed jet boat racing to hit Peace Region waters this weekend

The Rat 200 jet boat racing tournament will be taking place around the Peace Region this weekend.

The first races will get underway Saturday at Magoos Landing at 9:00 a.m., that race will be followed by a second race at noon at the Bezanson Bridge. The third race will be at 2:00 p.m., back at Magoos Landing.

On Sunday, the races will begin at the Bezanson bridge at 9:00 a.m., followed by a race at noon at Magoos Landing, and than back to the Bezanson Bridge at 2:00 p.m.

Race Captain, Ron Hodges says the races are a lot of fun, especially seeing the jet boats blow by you.

“Come on down and watch it, and enjoy.”

Hodges added that the races will feature a few turbine jet boats, that can reach about 160 miles per hour.

However, some of the fun will be getting underway on Friday, as you can go see the boats up close at the show and shine in the Bullets and Broadheads parking lot from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

More information about where exactly the races will be taking place can be found on their website.
