Former football pro Matt Dominguez speaking in Grande Prairie

The St. Joe’s Celtics are bring another pro football player to Grande Prairie. Former Denver Bronco and Saskatchewan Roughrider Matt Dominguez is the keynote speaker at a fundraising event Saturday night.

He feels it’s important to share the ups and downs he went through in his career with young players and their communities.

“To hear someone that has gone through something that you might go through, or might have already been through, and to know that they didn’t get there with the easiest road – they’ve had a bumpy road – it makes people feel more comfortable and it also encourages people that their struggle’s real; that somebody else has been through it.”

Dominguez played four years of university football, before signing with the Denver Broncos for a year. He went on to spend six with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, during which he won a Grey Cup.
