No home for South Peace Regional Archives at Montrose site

South Peace Regional Archives had been eyeing up the Montrose site as a potential home for their ever-increasing historical archives, but it looks like that won’t be possible at this time.

It had approached the city in June looking to recreate the former Montrose School and use it as an office and storage for archive material.

The Community Living Committee will be letting them know that they won’t be able to approve their request from June, but are willing to work with them to find another alternative.

SPRA has been waiting on word from the city before going ahead with any other land negotiations.

Based on their current growth, they say they’ll need more space within the next three years.
