Sexsmith local cashes in $100K EXRTA ticket

A Sexsmith man will now believe it pays to be a bit extra after winning a $100,000 LOTTO prize.

On August 12, Neal Bilodeau was checking his weekly LOTTO 6/49 ticket, that he buys in a super pack twice a week.

Bilodeau says when he was doing his weekly routine he saw one of his tickets for $100,000 and put it to the side.

“I checked the first ticket, and it went into the garbage can,” he chuckled. “I checked the next one and saw $100,000, so I put it to the side and checked the rest of my tickets.”

Rather than immediately celebrating the win, he wanted to make sure that he read the ticket correctly.

“I had to double-check the second ticket to make sure it was still a winner,” he laughed. “[I said to the store clerk] ‘Is this for real? The machine had better not be lying!’”

After Bilodeau’s $100,000 EXTRA prize was confirmed, he began thinking about how he will spend his winnings.

“I’m going to pay off my truck!”

Now that Bilodeau has had sometime to process his win, he says its still a little hard to believe.

“It hasn’t all sunk in yet, but it’s great – it’s awesome!”

Bilodeau purchased his winning ticket in Grande Prairie from the Trader Ridge Gas Bar.
