Finishing Touch Grad Society to host pub night fundraiser Saturday

After helping out more than 130 high school graduates last school year, the Finishing Touch Grad Society will be hosting its pub night fundraiser this weekend.

The fundraiser will be taking place the Grande Prairie Legion Branch #54, on Saturday.

President of the charity, Charlotte Glenn says the night will be filled with a number of different ways to contribute, including a silent auction, desert auction, and an opportunity to donate.

“We have so many ways to contribute, you can donate clothing, new or used shoes, jackets, jewelry.”

Glenn added that they will even be accepting items such as snacks and toiletries as well.

During the event, attendees can enjoy a roast beef dinner, and listen to the student band from Charles Spencer High School, Antimony.

During the recent grad season, Finishing Touch helped dress over 130 students from all across the Peace Region, tripling the amount the amount of students they helped the year before.

“It’s been really nice to see how many kids have heard about us, and are willing to utilize our services.”

Finishing Touch is already trying to stock up for this grad season, seeking for more inclusive sized dresses, women shoes and toiletries.

Anyone looking to volunteer, or to purchase tickets is encouraged to reach out to the charity on Facebook.
