Elmer joined the Storm for two games during the 2014/15 season before being traded to the Regina Pats at the beginning of the next season. He then returned to the city during the 2015-2016 season playing 20 games and scoring one goal and three assists.

During the following season, he had 9 goals and three assists in 20 games before being traded to the Kootenay Ice. The 20-year-old was picked up from the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League where he’s been for the past two seasons.
