Former Grande Prairie Storm right winger Jake Elmer has signed with the New York Rangers. Rangers General Manager Jeff Gorton announced on Friday that they had come to terms with the free agent.
Elmer joined the Storm for two games during the 2014/15 season before being traded to the Regina Pats at the beginning of the next season. He then returned to the city during the 2015-2016 season playing 20 games and scoring one goal and three assists.
During the following season, he had 9 goals and three assists in 20 games before being traded to the Kootenay Ice. The 20-year-old was picked up from the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League where he’s been for the past two seasons.
