The 44th annual Archie Harvey Memorial Golf Tournament tees off Friday morning. RCMP members join other police officers and the community to play a round and support local charities.
The event is named after a Grande Prairie corporal who was killed in the line of duty on June 23rd, 1967. He was shot while investigating a homicide, after a 16 year career that spanned eight different detachments in Alberta.
The golf tournament is one of the biggest in GP, with some of the proceeds going towards two bursaries at Grande Prairie Regional College. Tee off is 10:30 a.m. at the Dunes Golf and Winter Club with a banquet dinner to follow.
