GM of Revolution Place retires

After over 24 years of being the General Manager of Revolution Place, Jane Cada-Sharp is retiring. She originally came to the Swan City to take on a career in radio but after 10 years, 5 in radio news and 5 having her own talk show, she moved onto Marketing and Promotions jobs.

After a year of promotional and marketing work with Douglas J Cardinal Theatre, she ended up at the arena. She says it will be hard to leave but she takes a lot of memories with her.

“The major highlights that gleaned national attention of course was the Scotties. It was one of the smallest venues to ever hold that event. It was very successful.”

Other highlights for Cada-Sharp include performers that have made Revolution Place a stop on their tours.

“Top of the list, Sir Elton John and Shania Twain. This is the smallest venue in Canada to host those entertainers”

The switch of naming from the Crystal Centre to Revolution Place was also another one of her highlights.

She explains that someone who takes on her position at Revolution Place would have to be a team player and someone who recognizes they can learn from their staff.

Her last day in the office is on March 31st and will then move to Okotoks to be closer to Calgary where her children live.
