53-year-old facing charges after RCMP seize drugs from vehicle at Eastlink Centre

A 53-year-old Grande Prairie man is facing charges after police allegedly seized a sizeable amount of drugs from a vehicle late last month.

The Grande Prairie RCMP says they were called to reports of a man in possession of a handgun in the parking lot of the Eastlink Centre around 12:30 p.m. on August 27th. When they arrived, police located the vehicle, with a lone male occupant. The “handgun” was also found, but turned out to be a lighter, closely resembling a weapon.

However, as part of the vehicle search, police also found and seized 423 grams of meth, 20 grams of cocaine, and items relating to what police describe as drug trafficking.

As a result, the 53-year-old man is facing charges of trafficking methamphetamine.
