More than a dozen peace region families were recognized over the weekend for one hundred years of family farming. Each year the Government of Alberta’s Century Farm and Ranch Awards are handed out to families in the province that have farmed or ranched the same land for a hundred years.
This year’s winners include:

- The Boytinck family of Fairview
- The Doll family of Fairview
- The Dumont family of Girouxville
- The Heath family of Berwyn
- The Keillor family of Berwyn
- The Laflamme family of Falher
- The Limoges family of Girouxville
- The Lof family of Bluesky
- The Markovich family of Rycroft
- The Rollying family of Bluesky
- The Watchorn family of Bluesky
- The Young family of Spirit River
The first century farm and ranch awards were handed out in 1993 and since then more than 1500 families have been honoured.
