Storm alum lifts Stanley Cup with Vegas Golden Knights

Grande Prairie Storm alumni Logan Thompson is a NHL Stanley Cup Champion following the Vegas Golden Knights blow out game five victory over the Florida Panthers. The ex Storm goalie played 37 games in the 2022 – 2023 NHL season, totalling 2,171:22 minutes, and finished the season with a .915 save percentage.

Thompson played for the Storm for 22 games during the 2014-2015 season where he posted a .906 save percentage and 3.08 goals against average. The following season Thompson went to start his three year career with the WHL’s Brandon Wheat Kings, where he won the league championship in 2016.

Before signing the a two year entry level contract with the Golden Knights in 2020 Thompson played for the South Carolina Stingrays in the East Coast Hockey League.
