Work crews will be operating on the replacement of the culvert crossing on Lakeland Drive between 95th Street and 123rd Avenue in Grande Prairie on May 1st.
The project, near Crystal Lake Dog Park, would see the replacement of the existing structure with a new concrete design, the installation of new manholes, and surface repairs.
Notification signs will be placed near the area to alert residents and drivers of the upcoming project and the city says construction will affect traffic along Lakeland Drive, temporarily reducing the road to a single lane with alternating flow controlled by traffic lights; however, the bus stop in the area will remain operational to reduce the inconvenience for commuters.
Additionally, pedestrian traffic will be accommodated through appropriately placed detours as needed.
The city maintains that once the project is completed, the upgrades will contribute to the safety and functionality of the neighbourhood surrounding Crystal Lake.
