Grande Prairie reports lowest national rental rates in May: Rentals.ca

Grande Prairie had the lowest rental rates for the month of May out of the 35 municipalities across the country included in the latest rental report from Rentals.ca and Urbanation.

In the month of May, a one-bedroom apartment on average cost $1,023, up 7.8 per cent compared to May of last year, while the average two-bedroom apartment was $1,226, up 15.1 per cent from 2022. Month-over-month, the average one-bedroom apartment was up 1.2 per cent, while a two-bedroom saw a 3.6 per cent increase.

Across Alberta, rent was up 13 per cent, with a one bedroom costing $1,371 and a two bedroom $1,695. Respectively Red Deer, Edmonton, and Lethbridge finished 29th, 31st, and 32nd on the list, while Calgary came in 27th. In May, Vancouver and Toronto continued to have two of the highest rental rates across the country.
