UPDATE: The suspect has been arrested and the vehicle has been recovered, according to RCMP.
Grande Prairie RCMP is reaching out for help in order to identify a suspect that was allegedly involved in a break and enter in Clairmont and fled the scene in another person’s vehicle.
Police say that on July 15th at approximately 3:52 p.m., they received a report of a break and enter in progress on Township Road near Clairmont. As officers arrived at the scene, the suspect in question ran into a pick-up truck, ignored police orders, reversed the vehicle, and intentionally rammed a police vehicle before leaving the area. Later on in the day, at about 6:40 p.m., the stolen vehicle was seen by a passer-by stuck in a field. A good Samaritan offered assistance to the driver. They were then assaulted and their vehicle was stolen.
RCMP is looking for the stolen vehicle described as a Grey Dodge Ram 3500 with an Alberta licence plate reading CLS-9529. The man is described as having fair skin, unshaven, wearing a ball cap, black long sleeve shirt, sunglasses, and blue jeans. A photo of the individual can be seen above in the story.
