Today is the first scheduled day of residential street cleaning. Crews got off to an early start this year because of the early melt and have been busy doing a thorough cleaning of main arteries in the city.
This year’s street sweeping schedule will follow the rotation established during snow removal, meaning crews will be working in neighborhoods the day before their garbage is to be picked up.
It’s expected the residential sweep will take about 4 weeks, with four days needed for each area, with priority two’s and bus routes being included in that time frame.
The city is asking residents to help out crews as much as possible and have vehicles parked off the street on cleaning days.
