A Grande Prairie business wants to pack a truck for animals in need. Employee’s at Suzie Q’s Auto Detailing hope to donate as many pet supplies as possible to In the Woods Animal Rescue.
“Our goal between now and August 24th is to pack a 20-foot trailer full of dog food, cat food litter, collars, leashes, blankets, dog bedding [and] cat bedding so that we can haul it out to In the Woods Animal Rescue on August 25th,” said co-organizer Sheena Nooy.
In the Woods is located in Nampa, Alberta about two hours away from Grande Prairie. While Nooy said she knows there are closer shelters they could have helped, this one’s location made them want to offer an extra hand.
“[We thought that] because they’re remote and they don’t have access to as many resources as maybe some of the local programs here in Grande Prairie [do] that we would extend ourselves and try and help somebody that might need a little bit of extra help.”
Pet items or monetary donations can be dropped off at Suzie Q’s Auto Detailing on 100 Street during regular business hours from now until August 24th.
