The first of two major budget discussions gets started at city hall today.
City Council will be deliberating their four year capital budget over the next two days, and will dig into the operating budget later next week.
Bill Given says the next two days are about deciding what infrastructure projects the city wants to tackle over the next four years.
“Some of the significant items in the capital plan are council’s plans for reinvestment in the core infrastructure in the downtown area, there is a significant amount that’s been put into the plan over the four year period to do a reinvestment and reinvigorate that basic infrastructure.”
Other items up for debate include further investment in city playgrounds and road renewal projects, and a reinvestment in South Bear Creek Park.
