Drunk driver nabbed by RCMP

A Grande Prairie man is facing drunk driving charges after blowing a red light early Sunday morning, right past an RCMP officer.

The cruiser was stopped at a red light on 102 Street and 99 Ave when the vehicle sped past, going around 140 km/hr.

After pulling the vehicle over in the Crystal Centre parking lot, the driver took off again, hitting a fence and knocking off a front tire.

The driver then collided with a meridian before attempting to flee on foot.
