UPDATE #2: A motorcyclist was killed in Friday night’s collision on Highway 40. RCMP say they responded to the crash with a pickup truck around 10:20 p.m.
The biker succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His identity is not being released.
Neither the driver nor the passenger of the pick up was injured.
UPDATE: 511 Alberta reports the Highway has reopened.

Highway 40 is currently closed at the Wapiti River Bridge due to a fatal collision. Grande Prairie Rural RCMP, firefighters and EMS are currently on the scene.
The road will be blocked off in both directions for an extended period of time so an investigation can continue safely. Drivers are asked to use an alternate route.
