Local business raising funds for Grande Prairie Cancer Centre

A local business is working to raise money for a piece of equipment for the Grande Prairie Cancer Centre. The Bras Across the Bridge campaign is back again this year with a goal of purchasing a Ritter 222 Barrier Free Power Exam Table for the clinic. Victoria’s Attic and other participating businesses are selling $5 paper bras which will have all funds go towards the table.

Victoria’s Attic Owner Alison Gustafson says that having her business has given her the opportunity to meet people who have been touched by breast cancer in some way. She adds that she is thankful that she gets to work with people prior to, during and after their surgery.

Gently used bras will also be collected to pinned up across the Bear Creek Bridge in support of Breast Cancer Awareness on October 7th. Once they are taken down, they are washed and donated to local women’s shelters.
