Dawson Creek teen now missing for three weeks

It has now been three weeks since 15 year old Denny Poole went missing from between Dawson Creek and Fort St. John. He was last seen on March 12 on Highway 97 one kilometre south of the Kiskatinaw River Bridge. He was walking between the two B.C. cities but never made it to his destination.

RCMP say he and another teen had been wandering along the highway and backroads for 20-some hours taking what they thought were back roads. They kept getting turned around and didn’t make it very far.

Denny split up with the other youth around 7:30 p.m., and less than half an hour later the second teen called RCMP to report a suspicious occurrence. Mounties say he may have been experiencing a hypothermic delusion, but while on the call, a man travelling between Dawson Creek and Fort St. John stopped to check on him. He spoke with the RCMP dispatcher on the youth’s phone with what sounded like a heavy South Asian accent.

Denny hasn’t been in touch with his family since, which is very out of character for him. Police are again reaching out to the public to check areas around where he was last seen and to contact them with any new tips.
