The Nitehawk Year Round Adventure Park wants to help keep the toes of Grande Prairie children warm this winter. Until December 14 the ski hill is collecting winter boots for ‘Warm-Toes-for-Tots’ at their chalet and a few different locations around the city. Assistant General Manager Johnathan Clarkson says he understands that this is a need for many local children.
“That’s something we all take for granted, there are kids out there that are walking to school in their sneakers throughout the season. Our snow school director Gerald Logan is a past principal at Hillside School and he had many students there that were facing that same thing and we really think that there is a need in the community.”
Clarkson says he hopes this will be the first annual “Warm-Toes-for-Tots” campaign. Staff at Nitehawk will include a pair of warm fuzzy socks for every pair of boots donated when they are passed out to children through out the local school districts in December.
