Guns, drugs seized from home west of Valleyview

Police in Valleyview say they have seized a large amount of guns, drugs, and stolen property from a home west of the Town of Valleyview. A search warrant was executed on a rural property on August 22nd.

There, the RCMP says it turned up several hundred rounds of various calibers of firearm ammunition, four long guns, one imitation firearm, two bladed weapons, a wooden recurve bow, and a set of brass knuckles.

Also in the haul were two stolen vehicles, stolen documentation for four different vehicles, keys to eight different vehicles, and four stolen licence plates. Mounties claim they also found 54 grams of meth, 36 tablets of prescription drugs, various drug paraphernalia, and a stolen subwoofer.

Valleyview residents 30-year-old Shawn Danner and 49-year-old Craig Harrington have both been charged with two counts each of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Danner is facing additional charges of resisting or obstructing a peace officer, three counts of failure to comply with release order, possession of a controlled substance, trafficking a firearm, and three counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order. Harrington is also charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and failure to comply with a release order.
