A pair of Peace Country companies have been included in Alberta’s Top 75 Employers 2022 list.
Mercer Peace River Pulp and Aquatera Utilities Ltd. are among those selected by the editors of Canada’s Top Employers list, along with organizations including the Calgary Police Service, City of Edmonton, and Shaw.
Aquatera CEO Vaughn Bend says the company is proud to be recognized for its work alongside such respected companies.
“This award reflects our commitment, and that of our employees, who continue to do great work on behalf of the communities we serve.”
The list is compiled after employers are compared to other organizations in their field, with the authors of the final list determining selections based on several parameters, including progressive and innovative programs.
Interim Services Manager Kalena LaValley says giving back to the community is something Aquatera takes great pride in.
“Being able to support local organizations and initiatives through the employee volunteer program allows me to connect with my colleagues and give back while supporting my well-being.”
Mercer Peace River Pulp mill has been operating in Peace River since 1990, produces both solid wood and pulp products.
