Water fountain levy increase for some Pinnacle Ridge residents

City council has approved a $5 tax increase for some Pinnacle Ridge residents. A $20 levy has been in place since 2010 for the maintenance and operation of the fountain and waterfall features.

It’s paid by homeowners in the south east quadrant of the neighbourhood, surrounding the pond at 108th Street and 68th Avenue.

Reception to a post by the local neighbourhood association was mixed, with some saying the fee is worth it for the pleasure they get out of the fountains, while others were concern about only some residents paying for the enjoyment of others.

The fee will be added on to their 2015 property tax.
