Suspects caught sleeping in stolen vehicles

Two suspected thieves have been caught fast asleep in the vehicles they’re accused of stealing.

After Beaverlodge RCMP tipped off Dawson Creek police that a stolen vehicle may be headed in their direction, they started getting reports of multiple break and enters and thefts from businesses along the way.

One suspect was found passed out in a Tim Hortons parking lot, while a tow company let them know about another napping in the drivers seat of a vehicle in its lot.

Over 160 stolen items worth more than $200,000 have been found, and two men aged 29 and 33 from Grande Prairie are in police custody.
