École Parkside teacher nominated for Edwin Parr Award

The Grande Prairie Public School District has announced their nominee this year for the Edwin Parr Award.

Carly Marton is a grade one french immersion teacher at École Parkside.

Principal Paul Therrien says Marton has incorporated varied instructional methods in her classroom to make sure students are able to learn in a way that complements their learning style.

Marton is also an active participant in her Professional Learning Communities and is being recognized for her ongoing pursiut of quality practice.

The Edwin Parr award is an annual award to recognize the achievements of outstanding first year teachers in Alberta.

Each school board in the province can nominate one teacher for the award, with one winner from each of Alberta’s six school zones chosen in the fall.
