RCMP Constable David Wynn has passed away in hospital this morning.
The husband and father of three was not expected to survive after being shot in the head from close range on Saturday while investigating a report of a stolen car at a St. Albert casino.
The RCMP have expressed their sympathy to the family.
Arrangements are being made for a Regimental Funeral in the Edmonton area.
