The 25-metre pool at Eastlink Centre will be closed for an undetermined amount of time after a pseudomonas aeruginosa contamination was discovered.
Staff at the facility are currently working on figuring out contributing factors to the contamination, and are taking steps to prevent further contamination.
Lifeguards are reminding patrons to the pool area that they must have a hot shower with soap in the change room before entering the pool area. Adding they have the right to refuse entry otherwise.
Officials say all other aquatic programming will be relocated to other areas of the pool facility, and they do not expect cancellations or delays otherwise.
