People living in the Village of Hythe will soon have a new place to buy food. New Horizon Co-op has announced that it has bought the Hythe Bigway and will be switching it to the Co-op brand.
Marketing Team Leader Amanda Pinard says when the Bigway became available, they jumped on the chance to move in.
“They already have our brand values of locally invested, community-minded and lifetime membership benefits and we just felt like it was the right fit for us to branch into [the] Hythe area.”
This comes on the heels of the chain buying the Beaverlodge TGP making this new store the eighth New Horizon Co-op in the area. Other places with a location include Grande Prairie, Rycroft, La Glace, Valleyview, Falher and Grande Cache.
“We’ve had very positive feedback from our Beaverlodge food store location and thanks to the community and the surrounding communities that support Co-Op it allows us to support the community that supports us,” says Pinard. “We are really looking forward to welcoming Hythe into the Co-op family and servicing that area.”
The existing Bigway employees have been offered jobs at the new Co-op. It will officially open on July 17th.
