Businesses with less than 10 employees make up the majority of the Grande Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce’s members, and it’s celebrating them all next week.
October 20th to 24th is Small Business Week, which culminates in the Business Excellence Awards Gala on Friday.
Second Vice-Chair Jordan Menzies explains they’re celebrating their Centennial next year, and small businesses started it all back in 1915.
“I think in a community like Grande Prairie there’s lots of small businesses and everybody kind of helps each other be successful and the chamber just wants to be a conduit for that.”

It all kicks off with a free proclamation breakfast mixer Monday at Centre 2000 at 7:30 a.m., which is well the award nominees will be announced.
