Industrial park plans up for public view

The public can soon learn more about plans for an industrial park south of Grande Prairie. An Area Structure Plan for the park is in the works, and two open houses will be held for people in the area to get a better idea of what could be in store, as well as give their input.

The Tri-Municipal Industrial Partnership between the Municipal District of Greenview and the City and County of Grande Prairie was first announced at the end of 2016. Since then, it has developed into a large-scale industrial park on 335 square kilometres of Crown land in the MD, 40 kilometres south of the city. All three partners will share the property tax revenue.

The Area Structure Plan lays out the use of the land and what’s needed to access and service it. It already has rail, road, and pipeline infrastructure in place.

Open houses will be held at the Clarkson Hall at Evergreen Park on October 24th, and at the Grovedale Public Service Building on October 25th. This is the first of two phases of public engagement.
