Grande Prairie wildfire hazard back up to Moderate

The wildfire hazard for the region has again increased to Moderate.

There’s been a drought in the northern part of the wildfire management, with extreme fire weather indicators in some areas.

There have been 57 wildfires in the Grande Prairie area since the beginning of March, which have burned more than 4,300 hectares.

The province says 30 of those were cause by humans, which are 100 per cent preventable.
