RCMP are warning senior citizens in the area to be wary of a phone scam making it’s rounds in the city and Beaverlodge.
The scammer has been contacting people in the city and, after establishing a rapport with the intended victim, will ask for a money transfer over the internet or through a company like Western Union.
Police want to remind everyone never to provide money to someone that you do now know, and to contact the local detachment or Crimestoppers if you receive such a phone call.
