Grande Prairie RCMP have laid charges against 28 year old Mikkial Vaughn Cardinal after an incident in Mission Heights earlier this week.
Tuesday evening a police vehicle was rammed when an officer attempted to pull over an erratic driver. While attempting to arrest the suspect, police received information that a threat had been made to shoot an officer.
Police were able to take the suspect into custody after an altercation.
Cardinal is facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police causing bodily harm, assault causing bodily harm, and two counts of assaulting an officer with a weapon.
Cardinal, who is from Smith, Alberta, has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance on September 3.
