Snowfall warning issued for southern Grande Prairie region

A snowfall warning has been issued for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge – Valleyview region. 10 to 20 centimetres is expected by Saturday night.

Heavy snow should begin in the mountains this afternoon, moving into Grande Cache and Whitecourt later on. The southern part of the Grande Prairie region should also be affected with 10 to 15 centimetres by the end of Saturday. Road conditions could get bad quickly.

Here in the city, Environment Canada says we’re looking at two to four centimetres of snow overnight with the windchill dipping down to minus 25. Another two to four centimetres in the forecast for Saturday, with the temperature dropping to minus 22 in the afternoon, feeling like minus 30 with the wind chill.
