This spring a brand new seniors’ facility will open in Clairmont and they are still looking for people’s applications. There are rumours circling around the area that they are full but Grande Spirit Foundation G-M Debbie Normington says that is far from true.
“We haven’t offered any of the units to anyone. By all means, we are looking for applications. If people are interested at all in moving into seniors’ housing and more specifically our new facility in Clairmont, they should come to the Grande Spirit Foundation and fill out an application for that.”
There are wait lists for the other housing they run.
“It will alleviate pressure of people waiting for our current facilities like the three lodges we manage and the other apartments we have in Grande Prairie and area.”
She adds that the rumour of wait lists could have started with the fact that all of their other units do have them.
The facility is set to be complete by March 2017 with opening dates possible for April or May of this year.
