Camper trailer set on fire in Whitecourt

Someone tried to burn down a trailer in Whitecourt early this morning and police are looking for a suspect. People were inside in the camper parked in the alley off of Kallbom Crescent when the arsonist struck between 3:15 and 3:40 a.m.

Fortunately, neighbours were able to put out the fire and no injuries have been reported. Minor damage was done to the trailer.

Whitecourt RCMP believe people in the area may have outdoor surveillance cameras that could give them a lead to find and charge the person responsible. Anyone who can help is asked to contact the detachment or Crime Stoppers.
