Maskwa Medical Centre receives $400K donation

The Maskwa Medical Centre have received a $400,000 donation from the RBC Foundation Community Spaces Grant.

According to the Chairman of the soon to-be medical centre, Ken Drysdale, the $400,000 donation is over two years. Officials say with the donation, it will support the construction of the new facility, and will cover the cost of the installation of two elevators to help enhance accessibility throughout the building.

“RBC Foundation’s Community Spaces Grant and its commitment to improving accessibility closely align with our mission at Maskwa Medical Center, to ensure that everyone can access the care they need without barriers,” said Drysdale.

Grande Prairie is one of the 41 communities across the country to receive funding from this grant, in 2026.

“This investment is helping us build a fully accessible facility that will bring specialist care closer to home for residents across Northern Alberta. From expanding access to specialist services through the Maskwa Medical Specialist Clinic, to supporting the training of future physicians, this facility will have a lasting and meaningful impact on the health of our communities.”
This year, the RBC Foundation plans to invest $12.5 million through the program to help support community projects across the country.
