Spirit Tree raises a record breaking $150K for those in need

The Grande Prairie Spirit Tree fundraiser raised a record breaking $150,000 during the holiday season.

The Spirit Tree Society and Browns Social House teamed up back in November 2025 to place the tree on the patio of the restaurant. When the tree was first created back in 2017, it was originally placed at the social house, and after a few years of the 20-foot tree bouncing between locations it finally made it’s way back to Browns.

This year, the tree doubled the donation record of $75,000 that was set back in 2018. General Manager of the restaurant Andrew Adams says the donation total shows how caring the Peace Region community really is.

“To see the community rally behind the Spirit Tree like this has been incredibly moving. When we helped create the tree back in 2017, the goal was always simple — to support local families in a meaningful way. Surpassing our previous record and reaching $150,000 this year is a testament to how generous and caring this community truly is.”

According to officials, 100 per cent of the $150,000 has went to families in need in the area. As the maintenance and operations of the tree were sponsored by local businesses.
