Grande Prairie Norsemen to host provincial finals on Saturday

The Grande Prairie Norsemen will be hosting the bantam football provincial finals on Saturday, November 15th.

The St. Paul Bengals will be coming into town, attempting to prevent the Norsemen from winning their first provincial championship. Not only will this be the teams first provincial finals appearance, but this year was the first time the team has ever won their league championship.

Head Coach of the team Kory Gravengard says that this season has been something special since the season started.

“I’m pretty excited for the boys, they have worked pretty hard to get here this year. I couldn’t be more proud, we have a great group of coaches here, some fantastic parents, great community support, it’s one of those things where everything has to come together to have such a special season and that is definitely what we have here.”

Coach Gravengard is asking for the community to come on down on Saturday to cheer the kids on.

“Come on down to the field and wear silver and blue, and come cheer on your local football team.”

Kickoff is slated for noon at Hansen Lincoln Field.
