More than $100,000 is going to support food banks in the Peace Country. Grande Prairie – Wapiti MLA Ron Wiebe confirmed the provincial funding late last week.
“Food banks are an invaluable support to our community that help us to feed our families and ensure food security.”
A $50,000 food security grant and a $21,461 matching grant is going to the Sexsmith and Area Food Bank. The Town of Sexsmith also got a $5,000 food security grant.
Additionally, the Beaverlodge Christmas Hamper and Food Bank is getting a $21,726 matching grant and $8,000 grant.
