People in the Bear Creek area may notice a fuel smell. The City of Grande Prairie says fuel has spilled from a home nearby into the water.
Containment booms were put in place near the Muskoseepi Park and 100 Avenue Bridge on April 5th. They’ll be in place until the contamination has been cleared.
Alberta Environment and Protected Areas has been notified. Residents are reminded to make sure fuel is secured in an appropriate container when being transported or stored to avoid leaks.
