Investigation into sudden courthouse staff illness underway

Questions remain as to the source of an unknown situation that forced the closure of the Grande Prairie Court House Friday. The RCMP says it was called to help around 11 a.m.

At that time, two employees inside the building had fallen ill and there was a concern about the air quality. With EMS and the Grande Prairie Fire Department, the building was evacuated.

One woman was assessed and released at the scene while another was transported to hospital. She has since been released.

Mounties say the courthouse was deemed safe and there is no further risk to the public, but an investigation continues. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers.
