UPDATE: Police now say the shooting victim is out of surgery and is in stable condition. A forensic examination of the shooting scene has been completed.
Dawson Creek RCMP has released a few more details on its investigation into the abduction and shooting of a 26 year old man.
The man was forced into a truck by multiple people late Friday night, and police believe they have found the rural location where he was taken and shot multiple times.
After dragging himself to a nearby road, he was picked up and taken to hospital, and arrived at the same time as am officer there for an unrelated matter.
It’s believed this attack was targeted and related to gang violence in the area.
Several persons of interest have also been identified, but authorities are still looking for any possible witnesses to the abduction in the area of 102nd Avenue and 17th Street between 10:30 p.m. and midnight.
