The head coach for the GPRC Wolves basketball team has announced he is stepping down.
Chris Nicol has been on a sabbatical for the last year, and says he’s realized he’d rather spend the extensive team he does coaching on his family and teaching full time.
Nicol has coached the team since 2002, and in that time has seen athletes go on to compete at provincial and national levels, and has started up several basketball camps, clinics, and programs that have helped the sport grow in Grande Prairie.
Nicol says in his free time he’ll still teach some of those programs, saying his greatest strength is as a clinician.
